Among the results of the IEEEXtreme 8.0 in 2014, University of Moratuwa and University of Colombo School of Computing from Sri Lanka were ranked among the best performing 10 Universities of the world. India produced 456 teams which is the largest amount of teams by any country. The surprising fact is that neither of the Indian teams were ranked in the top 50 of the world nor the top performing universities of the world.
