When Sri Lanka was extremely poor & salaries were really low, all the companies wanted to have a dev center in Sri Lanka. Because its cheap. When we pay €8000(without social welfare + pension schemes) per software engineer here, in SL back in those days it was just around €1600 (total). But now Sri Lanka is not in the poor low income category. These companies has no reason to keep dev centers here. Now they are looking for cheap alternatives like Africa or more affordable south east asian countries. This is how the world economy & multi national open economy based companies work. </blockquote>
