Job Description
The Assistant Accountant works in the Finance Shared Service Center (FSSC) - Accounting Team, reporting to the Vice President Finance, the Manager in-charge of the FSSC - Accounting team.
The FSSC - Accounting team is responsible for the general ledger accounting of IFS Corporate entities. The team is responsible for gathering, processing and verifying financial data, reconcile and ensuring the accuracy of financial information, and providing information for required stakeholders.
Primary Job Role:
- Interface with the global accounting team, group consolidation team, treasury and controllers.
- Process journal entries in accordance with GAAPs/IFRSs and internal accounting policies.
- Gather supporting documents for recordkeeping.
- Prepare month-end accounts and perform Income Statement and Balance Sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure the accuracy of financial information.
- Liaise with Tax consultants and Auditors and submit returns and schedules.
- Prepare ad hoc reports for management.
Qualifications
A degree in in Accounting, Finance or related field, CIMA, ACA, ACCA or any relevant qualification.
Candidate should have minimum 3 years of experience in Financial Accounting and Reporting, preferably within an international environment.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (MS Excel is mandatory) with background in MS Outlook
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Practices.
Proficient in using ERP applications.
