Yes and that's why we are here today. In 2008 IMF caused massive spikes in consumer prices

No.. This happened because China bought off the Rajapaksas & the Rajapaksas didn't stop robbing even after they finished with the useless no-income China projects. China purposefully gave loans for projects that had no quick income & looked the other way on huge robberies (Hambanthota harbor - cost 900 million. Gave 1400 million I think. 500 million robbed?)

Then the Yahapalanaya robbed the central bank & our debts & interest got to the point where it was no longer sustainable. They got more loans just to pay the interest of Rajapaksa loans.

Then Gota reduced the VAT tax, printed billions without much production then wasted billions of USD by trying to hold the $.

That's how we ended up here.

So convenient of you to just log all of this in to a single argument that favors your commi masters wishes now isn't it?

Some random text alone isn't enough to say whether a country on the verge of bankruptcy should get help from IMF or not.
We need expert advise from an economist. Not sure whether we could find one in Elakiri though
