Import TAXES!!!

i think this information will help to some of you when buying and importing items from e-bay
Friends, recently i bought a seiko wrist watch from e-bay.
before bidding i look around the prices in sri lanka and it is much cheaper to buy through ebay. So i decided to buy from e-bay
But after receiving the item there was a 83% huge import duty & tax on me.customs put every possible tax over this item and ultimately no profit for me.
the seller informed he can not mark this item as a gift or marked the item value to a lower value, if he do so there may be a chance to reduce the tax amount. After all this item cost me nearely the same price in sri lanka.

So please check every tax before import anything!!

And if you dont mind, please tell me the price too, because im going to import something similar too...

yes macho, if the seller can marked a lower value and send as a gift i think there are no charges.but machan custom 1n mehema karanawa kiyala danna nisa ahema ewana items check karala samaharawita tax gahanawalu.. but it depends machan. may be they check and release without tax
