Use an External Antenna LDPA with 7 metre cable along with ADPT-024 Coupling Adapter.
    This covers 900/1800 & 2100 frequencies i.e. 2100 is 3G/HSPDA frequency.

The coupling adapter is placed in contact with the Mobile Phone or USB Modem. Only one device can be used at any one time.

Note that the side of the Huawei E220 USB Modem that has the indicator light must be placed in contact with the coupling adapter.

The manufacturer of these products is Poynting.

I get Full 5 bar signal strength inside the house on the Huawei E220 USB Modem and full signal strength on both the LG U300 Mobile Phone (3 Network) and Sony Ericsson T610 Mobile Phone (O2 Network).

Maximum distance from Network Cellular Mast is under 35Km in which case the network rejects your signal because of the time delay, this cannot be corrected by any antenna.
For 3G/HSDPA communications the maximum distance is approximately 8km.

Be aware that excessive cable length from the antenna to the Mobile Phone or USB Modem will reduce the signal strength. Note that the LDPA Antenna comes with a 7metre cable, the antenna provides 11db signal increase.
I had to use wall mounted brackets to support the antenna as the cable length wasn't long enough to reach the TV/Sky Dish mast.

The other alternative is a 'signal booster,' a repeater, this is an expensive option at around £500. This will provide communications wirelessly with all devices inside the house.
