Anything that is designed to support them do support them. There is nothing called "more compatible" or "less compatible" when it comes to CPUs. They are either compatible or they are not! For example, there are many motherboards based on Intel P965 chipset and they still support Penryn. (But it is true that Intel didn't want to support Penryn on 965 chipset)
