Apart from few subjects.. I dont think International Schools can even match half of intelligent students of what govt. schools produce!! At least not in our days!!!

The other thing is in my personal opinion, If you are a Sri Lankan.. It doesn't matter you are doing London Syllabus or Somalian Syllabus... govt. should make it compulsory for those Sri Lankan children to learn our history.. BECAUSE IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE COMING FROM, YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHERE YOU GOING!!!

Yep, from the Time of your days.

Trust me bro, that's just a misconception. The International schools are merely 15 -odd so years old in Sri Lanka.

so they have not yet produced enough VOLUME of people for us to judge. But just judging from many Kids I know (cause we did some seminars for these kids about law) ... Trust me, they are WAY WAY ahead of the same Grade kids of a Local college and I am benchmarking them with Kids of Royal which we did that seminar at the same time.

Hmm... good! but I wonder its standardized!

    It is.

It doesn't go as extensive as in the Local kids. But it's enough for them to get a hold of what's this country's past.

They teach it as a separate subject as "Local History" with a separate period and a teacher

Local school girls are more cuter !

They just don't wear short skirts and just don't go visit the "beautician" every weekend like the chicks in IS do.

Love those Visakians  I never called them "my sister school" cause didn't want me to feel like a incest lover

Sri Lankan History? Is it a totally separated subject for ya'll? How deep you dig into it? I mean is it similar to govt. school's syllabus?

i dont think it is necessory to go deep as gov schools. But they need some knowledge about history.

Well yeah.. maybe that's what you felt when you were conducting those seminars.. but I work in the Software industry and as I know the most demanded Software engineers and IT Pros in SL are from Moratuwa then comes all those private institutions!!! Likewise for the other sectors like in Health!! So I've gotta say Govt. system and their grads (which are the product of govt. schools ofcourse)....still pretty much rule in Sri Lanka...

Even in sports still dominated by Govt. schools!! Take 2 most popular sports in Sri Lanka Cricket and Rugby!!!

But yeah like you said their numbers also quite small, I'm just saying that it will take some effort to topple the domination of govt. schools!!

1.when you want to get admission to school grade one its make really hard thing
( this year some children have to wait untill may)

2.Are there enough resources given in time
( this year grade 11 student still hasent got some text book exams on december)

3.All have to go for extra classes and waste time after school (1.30-6-30)
so international student have more time to do there extra activities and stuff

4.Teaching techniques and contents very out dated.

5.if you go to normal school and you have to go to uni have to have highest marks only 2% get chance
so other left out not because of they problem .
If do london A/L you can get entry to uni easy

6.and sport and other activities how many schools have facilities and professional traineers

7.Its depend on the society you live if you in that dont matter what school you got to even normal school once also go to night club and parties( its big deal to pepole never gonna to that kind of thing and only speak hearing what other say i think you also dont have experience).

8.You talk about history you know the pepole study aroun 70-80 dont know much about history and stuff
now even they become grand mas and fathers

how stupid these people are. It all depends on how you think of yourself. If you are straight to control yourself how do the schools matter??
Even in the government schools sub cultures like that exist. Then what about the Stag Nights Royal and Tomians have. Do they cultivate anything good in you???? I know the difference cause currently im studing at gateway and up to my OLs I was at Nalanda. Different people, different world.
