Dimensions and weight
---------------------------
The new iPhone doesn't manage to shed any weight, at 137 grammes though it will be the 'thinnest smartphone ever' according to Jobs, with the iPhone 4's dimensions coming in at 4.5 x 2.31 inches, and 0.37 inches thick.

Construction

Doing away with the old plastic back of previous models, the iPhone 4 will feature glass on both sides, surrounded by an aluminium rim. The rim, which features aluminium buttons for volume control and all the ports, will also form part of the phone's antennae system.

Processor
-----------------

Sharing the Apple A4 processor with the iPad, the latest chip should see super-speedy load times and data processing.

Battery
---------------
Due to the re-jigged internals in the iPhone 4 the battery is claimed to be 16% larger than the current iPhone. Jobs claims that users will experience up to 7 hours talk time on 3G, 6 hours of 3G internet use and a claimed standby time of up to 300 hours, meaning users may be able to skip a nightly charging session once in a while.

Display
-----------------
This is the big one, the new 'Retina display' that Apple claims will put the iPhone 4 above contenders using AMOLED screens. The 960 X 640 display packs 326 pixels per inch and boasts a wide viewing angle, to improve the browsing and video playback experience.

Camera
----------------
After years of begging from budding iPhone photographers, Apple has finally conceded and included a flash on the main camera. As for the lens, rather than upping the megapixel count, Apple has focused on making low-light photographs look better, meaning users should be able to snap away at any time of day and achieve great results.
There is also a second front-mounted camera that will enable users to make video calls over Wi-Fi, using Apple's patented 'FaceTime' software.

Gyroscope
--------------------

As well as the standard accelerometer and GPS functions of the current iPhone, the latest model will feature a gyroscope, opening up the possibilities for a whole new series of apps - including the rather funk Jenga-like demo Jobs showed off at WWDC.

Micro SIM
------------
Just like the 3G iPad, the iPhone 4 will only take the latest incarnation of SIM cards.

Noise Cancellation
------------------
The iPhone 4 will feature a secondary top-mounted microphone for noise cancellation purposes.

HD recording
-------------------
The new rear-mounted camera will be able to shoot videos in 720p. Expect YouTube to be flooded with a series of high-definition clips of pet cats in the wake of the iPhone 4 launch.

iOS 4
------------
While it's not exclusive to the iPhone 4, the newly-named iOS 4 will have exclusive features for Apple's latest gadget. Along with multitasking, folders, iAds and iBooks (all revealed earlier this year), the iPhone 4 will feature:
FaceTime - Apple's name for their patented video-chat facility. Apparently without any set up, users will be able to chat using either camera on their shiny new iPhone 4's.

iMovie - After shooting in 720p, users will be able to edit and polish their efforts in iMovie before unleashing them on the world.

How much will the iPhone 4 cost? :):):):):):):):)
---------------------------------------

As per usual, Apple hasn't yet announced international prices, and the operators are so far keeping quiet as to what they will be charging too. In the US and Canada , it's easy though: $299 for the 32GB iPhone 4 and $199 for the 16GB model. There is no 8GB option:no:.
