Technology walin apita wada loku ratawal machang also must be having counter measures which we cannot implement!!

I'm not saying SL should BAN these things forever, but people gotta except that if they are BANNED they are BANNED for a reason..

Why would a govt. BAN a GPS phone otherwise? Can anyone give me a satisfactory answer?

Machan you dont even live in SriLanka so how can you tell us what to do? But I do believe that you care about SriLanka as much as we do.If you live in SriLanka you will know how hard is it to live here.Every SriLankan who lives in the country knows this government doesnt act in democracy.

This Present( P**a) Government is not a practical one. How can you find a new phone that releases on these days without GPS? Anyway SriLanka doesnt have GPS for now. But there are countries which have terrorist threats that have working GPS. For example England ,America etc. Before SriLanka those countries have to ban GPS mobiles in those countries.

If the goverment do things like this we will never get new latest technology to our country. The recently launched Dialog SatNav system will also get banned in fewer days.SriLanka is not going forward anymore.Its going to the 18th century. Thats the truth.You wont agree with it.But you are fortunate to live in a country like Malaysia.

GPS in not used to Communicate, its used for Navigation!

and another thing abt da tax. macho do u know dat there is a tax f around 300% - 350% for every vehicle imported into sri lanka?? they but this burden on da ppl and the government has given 661 dutry free permits to import vehicles since 2004 which amounts to 1150million rupees. if they had taxed all those vehicles too there wud be more mney to pay for da government employees.

Most of these permits are for govt. employees

Its like "koti walige allagatta wage", if you wanna talk about this... because higher positions does have its advantages and perks, if you become a doctor and if you are entitled to a permit.. would you say no?

When you learn about technology.. one of the fundamental things you learn is.. efficient technology.. efficient being technology that suits you.. what works for you... there's no point going ahead of the world if that technology is obsolete for your system!!!

We cannot embrace new technology as we please... there are more deeper issues to be settled in Sri Lanka, we cannot automate factories with robots when they are thousands of people out there jobless!!!

Sri Lanka doesn't have that infrastructure yet, even internet is just beginning to penetrate.. its a sequential process.. If you talk about specifically GPS, as for right now the technology is obsolete in SL for a normal person like you and me!!
