A couple of things to note in this regard.
Yes, I too heard the said reports through Sun FM.
And indeed, it must have created a panic in the said areas. !
But then again, Banning a radio station for the mistake is not ethical. It's just stupid, politically driven move which is totally uncalled for.
If it's proven that a media orginzation has lied to the mass media, the correct procedure is to sue the said orginazaion and let them pay a fair penalty for their blunter.
But again, we must note that this Mahinda Rajapaksha regime seems to have a Mandate to attack all private media orginizations which goes against them or report truth of their corruptions and lapses.
Take Sunday Leader issue for an example. Complete utter bull crap from the Government side to shut up the Media. Take the ridiculous "Sirasa super star hindered the security forces at A,pura" which was thrown out by the state media spin doctors.
Then again, "hama kathawaka pathi dekkak thiyenawa" - every mirror has two faces !
Looking at it from the defence point of view, News Directors of the ABC networks should be burnt at the stake for lying of this magnitude, yet again, in a more ethical and a legalized system, they should be Sued. NOT BANNED and taken off the AIR !

I dnot get to listnen to sun fm anymore but it was my fav when i was in lanka...
cant forget those days listning to sundrive/ late night lov etc...the DJ are awsome!!
lets hope for da best that they will be back sooooooooooooooon!!
