Is moving to VISTA worthwhile?

Of course for us using pirate copies, it's just a matter of time, installing and re-installing, but when it come to buying, I don't think VISTA offers much than XP! Even microsoft released VISTA after taking a hell lot of time, it seems like they've not done a superb job!

Cheers XP! you aren't going to be wiped off soon!

Didn't you buy your "new" PC to run Vista?

Anyway, the troubles you are having are due to
1. nVidia's crappy drivers
2. less patience

VISTA?

Only a dream with PIII.

So I'm using VTP6.
(I downgraded my system to XP SP1 & installed VTP6)
You know, there are certain PIIIs faster than PIVs. (1.4GHz PIII vs. 1.4-1.8GHz PIV)

It's slow!!!!

Programming is easy though.

Well... I'm not gonna argue with you over JAVA's capabilities because

1. This is not a JAVA thread
2. It's already been proven how effective JAVA is

But the fact is as you know JAVA can run on any OS not just Windows....

and Vista is not helping them selves by not supporting the No:1 Programming Language of the world!!!

Anyway........I'll leave it to you to determine who's crappy!!

Hello,

Moving to Vista is a great idea. But make sure first you fullfill the prerequisites. Secondly check your migration from XP to Vista is worthwhile. If you are a developer, best recomendation is to adapt to Vista while having XP (2 PC's). Anywyas Vista is a great work by Microsoft. We appreciate open source development as well. But starting from Vista and moving along with year 2007, many find it difficult to pirate the latest products. Although you many find Vista on Unity at DVD range, they are the Beta release and you can not no longer use them. Also don't plan to rely on a pirate copy (if and only if it's available). Using pirates will give you nothing. But buying original is costly. So wise advice is to remain in XP, untill you are comfortable to trnasit to the Aero built Vista!.

Happy Vista!

The problem is not with Vista. The problem is with the drivers.

Microsoft had to ask the device driver programmers to change the driver model to WDDM to get the DirectX accelerated GUI running + get things ready for DX10. So you can't blame MS either.
