So far have been here a few months and honestly can't really say one country is better than the other, it all comes down to what you are looking for. Even the 'quality of life' index by UN isn't really an accurate indication of the 'best' place to live.While in Canada I had often made it a point to ask new immigrants (Chinese, Suddanse, Punjabi, Romanian, French... ect) what they thought of Canada and how they were finding life here. I'd say about 90% wanted to go back home, the main issues being lack of family support, being treated as an outsider, and the weather (well with -30 C winters, what can one do). Though most of them also said they could make more money in Canada - they weren't happy but had money...Personally while I miss some things in Canada, Sri Lanka really is a great place to live... there is so much potenial here. You would not believe how many Canadians would give their left leg to live on a tropical island where +20 C is a cold day. Unfortunately still haven't decided if I should stay or not, well have until May so if anyone does have advice willing to listen.Oh, though to sum up, there is no real 'best' overall - it really comes down to the lifestyle you want and what you are willing to give up, there are always trade offs.</blockquote>
