those 'mun' doesnt include Lincon, that's the difference.

Come to think of it, didn't Vijaya and his lot do the same here ?

    True.
    Vijaya
is the beginning of our history,
    and the direct link
to the greatest country of the world,
    India.
    :D
    But
    I still respect Lincoln more,
    because
    he loved humanity,
and Vijaya was an exiled thug.

    Matthew 7.2

    Is this the original verse.
    What I like is
"Don't judge, not to be judged"
    To me it simplifies
    Buddha's middle path,
    Awareness
    without
    Craving and Aversion.

    To recognize a great person
one needs a touch of it.
    If you quote Jesus
    I can see you more.

    You swollowed the bait, Madura.
    That served the purpose.
I just wanted to show how your style
    of talking about Lincoln
    would have affected me,
if I was soft enough to get entangled.
    Let us drop it here.

I don't want to change your ideas about Lincoln.
    It is not easy.
    Can be even impossible.
When I was less than 10 years
    I saw a page of a calendar
which my father ket with care
    with a lincoln's portrait
    and
    this quote.
“As I would not be a slave,

so I would not be a master.

    From that day
    my love for him grew.
    He was a great man,
    more than anything else.

    It is easier to recognize
    and
    glorify a thug.
There is no depth in his character.
His boasting is easy to understand
    and easy to identify with.
But that changes nothing in us,
    if any change happens
it makes us worse than us.
    Respecting a great man
challenges us to live better than us,
    because
    even recognizing him
    also a challenge.

    In that sense
    when does
Lord's word come from common people
    like you and me.
Does he ever speak through us?

Thats the work from him sure its good
He too wanted the people to be respective of the "slaves" after his work
that never happend slaves were given a good name "afro american" and told that they are second class citizens ....to my suprise that didnt spark a civil war again!
they say that it ended when martin Luther king came in to the scene ...
    but its still there
people call them niggers still and that didnt change and almost half of american prisons are filled with black people...more to that poverty rates are higher in blacks, and they'll have to work for money they are not being called slaves but they are theres your freedom ..it didnt change much only the things that were done in public are not being done in public now...there were lots of fights for freedom by the afro americans even after he ended slavery ...seems like it didnt solve the problem

he did something more but did not realise the truth
that these people were brought in as slaves and giving them freedom in america will not produce any good.
if he thought these africans should be sent back to africa with some money and sponsorship from america for them non of the problems that africa and its people and afro americans face will exist now
thats y i dont consider him a hero his solution is like gandis solution ...too watery to even call it a solution!!

you cant blame him for that. He tried and did make a difference at least while he was alive. If it failed after his demise, its not his fault is it ?

It did end the problem of slavery, Madura.
    That is a lot.
You don't know what slavery is.
    That is why Lincoln say
“Whenever I hear anyone arguing for slavery,

I feel a strong impulse to see it tried on him personally.”

    Abraham Lincoln

Till then one can argue for it or against it.
But there is nothing to argue about it if you know what it is.

    Lincoln faced a civil war
    to set them free.
If I were to try to read, much less answer,
all the attacks made on me,
this shop might as well be closed for any other business.
    I do the very best I know how - the very best I can;
and I mean to keep doing so until the end.
If the end brings me out all right,
what's said against me won't amount to anything.
If the end brings me out wrong,
ten angels swearing I was right would make no difference.

I feel that you will find him.
    If that happens
    this whole thread and
every word I typed means a lot.

    Search for his character.
"Perhaps a man's character was like a tree,
    and his reputation like its shadow;
the shadow is what we think of it,
the tree is the real thing."

You mean Lord stopped talking through people
    after a certain time.
Means he has nothing new to convey?
    (Don't misunderstand me.)
    Just curious about
how you would look at that from your point of view.

    ended one
generated new ones that dont actually seem like problems but they are. america and brits are solely responsible for the state of africa now and aids and everyother bullcrap that came afterwards its their problem they started it they tried to resolve its they who started up new problems without knowing the history ..they still dont give a damn about the natives in america ...well natives are going extinct soon and others will mix up that will end that problem
    others will keep generating
my advice; dont ever pick politicians as heroes ....they are the ones who fuk it up and again fuk it again up when trying to find a cure/answer...this is not about lincoln its about politicians as a whole
