totally depends on the company....
..MIT should pay well, probably around 100k for starters - You need C++ and MySQL (from what I've heard)
Virtusa apparently doesn't pay well - 30 -40 range (depending on skill)
Cakelabs is good if you are into Web development with JS technologies - I think they pay close to 150 k starting

I don't know specifically about the BIT degree, I was talking about fresh-graduates with a degree in computer science/software engineering in general...majority of them are either from Moratuwa or Colombo anyway....
