What is the differance between IT and CS?
I mean the two courses in the University entrance book.
What course is present at the UCSC?

CS වල මචං ගොඩක් දුරට algorithms, data structures, cryptography වගේ දේවල් බොක්කෙන්ම තියනවා.
IT වල IS development, Information security වගේ දේවල් තමා බොක්‍කෙන් කොරන්නේ...

You have more details here.
CS is excellent IT degree in a local university. For a one batch they are getting 160 students those who are done Maths in the A/L. If you want to be software Engineer that is a best course

CS eka theory paththa tikak wadi. ewagema design, algo, security patta wadiya kerenawa.
IT ekaka development wala weight eka sahenna wadi. laguage ehema wenama ugannanawa. CS wala language emphasis karanawa adui.

i think you have a point. if you are planning to move to management side then IT would be good. and if your target is in technical track (architect may be) then CS is the track.
if you can do UOM CS then it is the best place...

How about CS + CIMA and go in to management field other than IT + CIMA???

CS is very hard. It has most of the theory parts. But IT is mainly practical. It has little theory parts like maths and algorithms and lot of application software training.

UCSC CS degree program> 100% technical
ICT degree prgaran > 75% technical 25% managerial subjects (mgt,acc etc..)

I feel it is kind of a waste. any way so many people are doing that. so there may be a point. but I feel CS + MSc would be much better path. or if you want badly to enter management then CS + MBA will be appealing.
