The war is over and all of us are able to breathe a sigh of relief. This was possible because many in the defence forces sacrificed on our behalf. There are many soldiers who have lost their limbs and are disabled today. It is our duty to give them back the mobility that they so richly deserve.
The Sri Lanka Army Engineers Association (SLAEA) has launched PROJECT GRATITUDE to provide artificial limbs for those soldiers who sacrificed on our behalf. They have released the requirements of the first batch of such soldiers and the cost of providing artificial limb (pl see attachments) . A separate bank account will be opened for this purpose. You can contribute directly to this account and help pay the cost of a limb. The cost is given below
· Leg below knee Rs. 19,500
· Leg below heel Rs. 26,000
· Leg above knee Rs. 85,000
· Arm below elbow Rs. 26,000
SLAEA will make arrangements to acknowledge your contribution and for you or your representative to make the donation on a pre agreed day.
