so you want to change the layout in the runtime . yes it's possible
you just get the content pane and invoke the seLayout method.

But the netbeans normally use the group layout as it's default. however
you can statistally change it ( drag and drop ) and you can even writing code to
dynamically change it at the runtime using setLayout method.

However i wonder that what is the application program that you are writing
to change the layout in the runtime ?
