The Sri Lankan government expects to fill all the vacancies in the public sector before next Independence Day, the Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister Sarath Amunugama said.
Addressing a ceremony held in Colombo today to handover appointment letters to Management Service Assistants, the Minister said the government hopes to make the public service more efficient and a dearth in government workforce would harm the public service.
According to the Minister the government expects to solve problems in agriculture, water facilities, housing and other related areas in divisional secretariats level.
