However, they went on to plant three unconverted tries.Kandy opened scoring in the 5th minute when they won a scrum and Radhika Hettiarachchi crashed through the open space to touch down for an unconverted try.Thereafter there were plenty of open spaces as the speedy three quarters and the diligent set of Kandy forwards indulged in an orgy of tries as the soldiers wilted under pressure confronting a side which comprised several national players.At the breather Kandy had topped the half century mark 52\5 with 6 goals and 2 tries to Army’s solitary try.On resumption Kandy took the field minus their star winger Sanjeeva Jayasinghe.
