Every singer/musician has a period where they fiddle with others' creations. I'm sure Jothi sang other singers' songs before he sang his own song. The first song he ever sang was not his own song. I made this cover because I'm not up to the standard of creating my own melody and singing my own song yet.Even if one day I reach that level and sing my own song, why can't I sing Jothi's songs and enjoy? Is listening to originals the only way to enjoy Jothi's songs? The sole purpose of this cover was to get feedback on my effort. Is that considered as "distorting"? If that is the case, I can't sing a Jothi's song with my friends with the guitar in my hand on a Saturday night, because it is not going to be as good as Jothi's original and hence I would be committing the crime of "distorting" his music. In that case I can't sing anybody's song because the chances are that I'm not going to be as good as any professional singer.The only difference here to a saturday night is that instead of singing live, I recorded and shared a link.I did not release this song in an album. I did not get radio and tv channels to play this. I didn't even force my friends to listen. All I did was to send the link and whoever is interested can listen and comment.About KK, as far as I know the only time he sang this song was in a concert held to celebrate Jothi's extraordinary talent. He was invited and asked to sing this song for an audience that loved Jothi. He accepted and sang for the delight of many Jothi fans. He did not use this song to win the hearts of Jothi fans and create a name for himself. Just like you said he has proved himself with his own talent over and over again.Respect!</blockquote>
