nothing new in this interview at all.. Dont think its Kasun's fault as he just answered the questions asked by the Interview...

The bloody reporter should have asked some serious questions about Kasun's new album such as what we discussed in the "Romantic Opera" thread... the reporter should have done some research on it first...dont think the bloody idiot had even listened to the album...

- what about using computer generated music more than the other albums ?
- what about the feeling of the Album being rushed a bit ?
- what about the Fans thinking this album is a bit weak compared to his previous ones ?
- the all important question..Is Kalhara himself totally satisfied with his new album ???

those are some of the questions we as fans need Kasun to answer..not what his farther thinks about him ...

I used to think as u...bt when de album begins to grow in me I realize itz "musically" better than other albums.... only issues is..acoustic issue...

yup..i read that thread & posted my view as well...I've listened to about 5 times now.... but As I remember Radical Premaya started growing on me after about 2-3 Listens.. but this one ..although it has its moments still hav not grown in me...

Thats my point "u dont have to will your self to listen to an album in the hope that it will grow in you"..if thats the caes in my opinion its a failed attempt... I'm not saying that even great albums starts to make an impression on you in the first listen... We all know that its not the case at all..

we are both metal fans ...so we both know than anybody else when in metal when u r checking out a new band or a new album of a much loved band, 9 out of 10... the fist listen wont make an impression on you... but on the 2nd & the 3rd attempt it starts to creep on you... after that u r hooked....

thats metal I'm talking about...so in Kasun's genre..Pop/Adult Contemporary you need to make the album more General Public Friendly.. meaning easy melodies that grows in you quickly...the song can be complicated with deep lyrics...but the song has to be memorable(Ex- Kapuge, Amarasiri Peiris, MAradeva, Sanath Nadasiri all have serious songs with simple catchy melodies...thats the secret)

Think Kasun has totally missed the script on this album...he should not make albums only for the hardcore Kasun Fans only..a person who has not liststened to Kasun before but has good taste in music should be able to dig "Romantic Opera" by the 2nd go... but even I (A long standing Kalhara Fan) cant dig this album that much...

So for me..his latest effort is a bit of a failier in those regards

Agree.... about Modern Day Journalists not researching or being too lazy when doing interviews on the Entertainment sector... Same kind of incident happened in another SL Music Forum

A Journalist from Sunday Observer Interviewed a SL Metal Band..The interview was published in the said Music Forum by the Band itself & some of the members didnt like the interview & started critising it... T

The BAnd was giving their opinion & the members were giving theirs... what we didnt know was that the jornalist who had written the artcle was also reading this thread... Here we were critising her for her interview & she loged in & started defending herself & critising the members

So for the first time in one thread we had the band, The journalist & the readers..all the 3 elements that r needed to work properly to get a good interview..

I know that I cant post links to other forums from EK...but this is an exception..Cause rarely you get to see the Band that was interviewed, The Jornalist who Interviewed them & the members who read it in one place voicing their opinions.... "Shazrina" is the Journalist. and start from the reply by member "metalpriest"

Agree.... about Modern Day Journalists not researching or being too lazy when doing interviews on the Entertainment sector... Same kind of incident happened in another SL Music Forum
