KIRLIAN PHOTOGRAPHY is a special form of imaging that some believe may be able to photograph the energy field of a person or object.
Kirlian photographs are made by passing a brief electrical current through the subject while the subject is in direct contact with a photographic plate. The prints show a fiery aura of light around the specimen; a coronal discharge.
It is named after Semyon Kirlian, who in 1939 accidentally discovered that if an object on a photographic plate is connected to a source of high voltage, small corona discharges (created by the strong electric field at the edges of the object) create an image on the photographic plate.
