What were they doing while a bunch of ppl trying to get this animal out, its there job.

Yup, no point in revenging after a wild beast, who is an endangered one nonetheless.

, but with so many people surrounding the scene an accident like that is not inconceivable. The sight of so many humans probably spooked the mom, whose only concern woulda been the bub.
