Australian Idol contestant Roshani Priddis – the 21-year-old Sri Lankan-born songstress -- who was eliminated on Monday hit out at celebrated actor Richard E Grant who charged that the organizers were exploiting teenagers with the lure of fame.
“They are making a lot of money but we’re getting a great opportunity, not many Australian artists have, a prime time slot on Sunday night on national television singing,” Ms. Priddis told LIVENEWS.com.au.
Ms. Priddis who was adopted by the Tamworth family said she had the urge to return to Sri Lanka. “Being adopted is awesome… I can’t wait to go back, not as a tourist either, I want to go back and just become a local,” she said. “I have the urge to go back every day, especially now I’m a little bit older and I can understand a bit more about the need for me to go back and why that’s important.”
