Need for Speed: Carbon is the latest installment in Need for Speed series. It was shown in EA's montage at Sony's E³ 2006 conference and is the cover story in Game Informer magazine, dated July 2006. EB Games has announced a provisional release date of November 1, 2006. But, Gamespot (a local web-based magazine) has a release date of September 3,2006. It is the first NFS game set to be released for the PlayStation 3 and the Wii. Many of the cars in Need for Speed: Carbon will make a return from Need for Speed: Most Wanted, such as the Porsche Cayman S, the Aston Martin DB9, and the Lamborghini Gallardo. New additions to the car list include the Nissan 300ZX and the new 2008 Dodge Challenger. It is also evident that nighttime racing will make a welcome return to the series as some of the cars appear to have neon lights. This could mean that exotic cars may be featured in tuner races such as drift and may have crazy customization similar to the Need for Speed: Underground series. Carbon will be featuring Emmanuelle Vaugier as its model
