Let’s talk about Audio Album sharing

Even after covering the cost still albums are the same price. I don't know any album where price was reduced after covering up costs. Anyway may be you can enlight me bcoz my knowladge about prices are low.

Its like this in srilanka. Only very few people has gained the expected profit from albums. And few has covered the cost. But many people can't even cover the cost. They just do it to get popular.
So record companies also cover their costs from albums which get popular.
We think many of those big artists getting good profits from album sales. But if you hear the number of albums they really got sold you will get shocked.

western albums are for limited amount of people who have probably high living standered where sinhala albums are for everyone in the country. So probably it must be affordable for major portion of the socity.

There is nothing like high living standard people's music and low. They put the price based on demand. Anyway international record labels don't wanna drop the price since they have much larger markets than sri lanka.
About srilankan album prices they set the price depending on sales. So more sales mean they can drop the price.

In this case I would rather buy a cassette and also I would get a pirated CD. Since I have paid for artist for the music.

I don't said you should reduce the price of the album and wait. I mean you should reduce album when heavy operation against pirated music is in place, so that people are forced towards purchase. You can't expect most of people to pay 500 rupees for a album. If you reduce it for 100 rupees with heavy active copyright laws. probably you will make sales more than 5 fold.

Yes thats what i am telling bro. Some how if you reduce piracy then there will be drop in price and more people can enjoy legal music.

I did not support to put music for free download in EK. Bcoz its Illegal and I don't want to see something bad happen to EK. I was just sharing my personal thoughts why people rather prefer pirated music rather than original music.

Anyway posting pirate music links or what ever copyright stuff will not make much legal problems to ElaKiri since we are not hosting them or officialy support them. Copyright owners only can request us to remove them.
But we officialy release their music and we work with them like bros and sisters. So its not ethical to let people pirate their music using our own site. If they recover their costs or make their living from this then they will keep making good music for everyone.
