Find whether Windows is installed in UEFI or in Legacy Mode
Boot into Ubuntu Bootable Disk (Make sure to choose the correct mode UEFI/LEGACY in the boot menu)
Install. You may create a seperate partition for the installation using GParted. The next time you boot you'll be presented with the Grub menu.
Boot into Windows. And make sure to disable fast start
    Done.

If you want to install Windows after Linux, you can follow this guide:

e moko bn danna bari wei da vm aul wage

Dual booting is the best option IMO, if you know how to install it properly.
Because VMs are slow and have limitations.
It doesn't affect the performance of your Windows installation. Only the Windows boot time will be bit higher, because you can't use the fast start option when dual booting. Anyway fast start is unreliable because it does not do a full shutdown. So it's better to turn off it anyway.
Dual booting also does not have any impact on the hard disk. You can find more information on that online.
