Contact schools in remote areas or your friends working in these areas.  I have been doing this over decades. I sponsor school children and also needy Med students & Engineering students. Mostly I never hear from them later once they pass out and I don't expect them to do so either.  I make it very clear to them at the start about it.  I only request the Uni students to carry forward this once they get employed. At least support one student on their own. Most Med students once they reach the final year call me to say that they do not need funds as they have means to support themselves at that stage. My wife always donates a good stethoscope once the Med student reaches the third year.Sometimes we get a NewYear card from some, but I should mention that one particular person visits my place quite often with his family whether I am there or not and spends a day with my mother. Sometimes there are sad endings... Always things do not work out right.  Maybe write about this later on a different thread. But in most cases the outcome is positive.</blockquote>
