As we all know we can see the Buddha only through Dhamma...
Even when worshiping in front of a Buddha statue, it is the Sammasambuddha that we worship; and we should be able to (at least) recall the "nava arahadi budu guna" with their meanings...
"Itipi so bhagavā arahan sammā-sambuddho
Vijjā-charana-sampanno sugato lokaviduu
Anuttaro purisa-damma-saarathi satthā deva-manussānan buddho bhagavā"
