Those rejected by the voters won’t be accommodated in National List
(Colombo, Lankapuvath April 10) – Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Treasurer and former Minister of UPFA Dallus Alahaperuma said that the government would not entertain applications from defeated candidates into the National List of nominees.
Several prominent Ministers, deputy Ministers, MPs have suffered defeat in the recently conducted election on 08th April.
There are nearly 46 new faces in the 7th Parliament.
Meanwhile it is understood that the post of speaker of Parliament will also be named after the announcement of the National List. The name of former Speaker W J M Lokubandara MP is also in the National List of the UPFA.
General Secretary UPFA Susil Premajayantha MP also reiterated that no changes would occur in the National List.
