A Walk in the Clouds (1995)
Keanu Reeves, Anthony Quinn, Giancarlo Giannini and Aitana Sanchez-Gijon star in this visually spectacular film, an old-fashioned romance combined with warm family tradition.<br><br> After returning from World War II, a young G.I. (Reeves) finds he has little in common with the wife he left behind. Disillusioned, he heads north to work as a traveling salesman. There he meets the daughter (Sanchez-Gijon) of a wealthy vineyard owner (Giannini). On her way home, she is terrified of what her domineering father will do when she learns she is unmarried and pregnant. The young man gallantly offers to help by posing as her husband for one night, unaware that doing so will change both their lives forever.
After returning from the war, Paul and a young woman meet on a bus as she's headed home from college to help with the grape harvest and face her Old World domineering dad. The woman has not married but is pregnant and she thinks her father is going to kill her. Paul proposes to pose as her husband to help her face her father. After Paul returned from the World War 2, he meets with Victoria, who is on the way home to the grape field called Las Nubes, which stands for "the clouds." Through the celebration of the harvest, they finds out their love has grown passionately. In the meantime, they confront and have a hard time with her father, Alberto, who respects the old Mexican tradition.
