Deputy sea Tiger leader killed

LTTE's deputy sea Tiger leader Cheiliyan has been killed in fighting with security forces, Defence sources said.
Earlier a senior Tiger guerrilla known as Wellayan had been killed when the troops of 58 Division captured the earth bund in Karyalamulleivaikkal on Friday.
Over 1,000 civilians rescued by army and navy in the north

At least 700 civilians were rescued by the military from the north as the Navy rescued another 300 from the sea since Saturday, military spokesman Brig Udaya Nanayakkara said.
He said that heavy fighting was continuing in the area.
