This is the first time the Tigers have combined both air and ground attack. Another helicopter, a Bell 212, flown from Vavuniyaa, has crash landed in Mihintale, 13 km east of Anuradhapura. The attack was still continuing, after 5:00 a.m., according to the sources in Colombo. Anuradhapura is located 46 km south of Vavuniyaa and 168 km northeast of Colombo.
