LTTE attacks passenger bus; 4 civilians killed, 21 wounded [04th Lead]
At least 4 civilians were killed and 21 others reported wounded when LTTE terrorists opened fire at a passenger bus plying from Monaragala towards Katharagama, at the 49th mile post along the Buttala-Katharagama main road, Friday (July 11), at around 10:15 a.m.
The injured civilians were initially rushed to the hospital at Katharagama and later they were transferred to the General hospital in Hambantota, the Katharagama hospital sources said.
A civilian has succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment, Hambantota hospital sources said, adding that more civilian casualties are being received at the time of reporting.
