LTTE backed JVP terror leader PremaKumar Gunaratnem calling JVP to Terror actions again
The house and other property of three JVP dissident including Dissanayake of Puttalam came under attack late last night and early this morning injuring Dissanayake MP and now admitted to Hospital.
In another dramatic turn of events following the defection of 11 JVP MPs, including JVP Parliamentary Group Leader Wimal Weerawansa, the vehicles of two dissident JVPers were taken away forcibly by an unidentified gang, from the official parliament vehicle park yesterday.
The gang had entered the park, assaulted the policemen on duty and removed the vehicles, sources said.
The official vehicles of Kalutara district MP Piyasiri Wijenayake and Ratnapura District MP Achala Jagoda had been removed.
A sergeant attached to the parliament security detail, who had been assaulted by the gang, was admitted to hospital with injuries, police said.
It is alleged that a little-known JVP chief terror leader PremaKumar Gunaratnem, who was out of the country and now in Sri Lanka, three days ago, has been called into use terror tactics to prevent an internal rift in the party. Gunaratnem is backed by the Tilvin/ Somawansa Group. He was the JVP leader who led the Pallekale army camp attack in 1987.
PremaKumar Gunaratnem is based Melbourne, who dropped out from the Peradeniya University, who is a Tamil had been the co-ordinator of the JVP-LTTE alliance during the IPKF occupation in Sri Lanka where both parties fought against India during the era.
PremaKumar Gunaratnem’s wife is a physician based in Melbourne.
