Sri Lanka's Resettlement and Disaster Relief Services Minister Abdul Rishad Bathiudeen told a leading newspaper, "The money was not sent directly. Millions of US dollars were given to a London-based Tamilian. He was asked to produce Tamil films in Chennai with top stars like Rajnikanth."
Although the minister did not elaborate on how much money was paid, he said that Rajnikanth's films were lavishly funded by the LTTE. Several prominent politicians of Tamil Nadu also figured in the minister's list.
