During the subsequent search, troops found 5 bodies of LTTE&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; cadres , 2 T-56 machine guns , and 2 radio communication sets. Among the&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; slain cadres 4 were female and one was male. Ground troops have claimed&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; that 10 terrorists were killed and an equal number injured. Also, 2&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; soldiers were killed and nine sustained injuries in the clashes. The&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; injured have been evacuated to Mannar, Vavuniya and Anuradhapura&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; hospitals. &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp; In the general area Pallaikuli, troops forayed a&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; fortified LTTE defence around 6.a.m. and beat off the terrorists&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; following hours long gun battle. Troops destroyed 4 LTTE bunkers, and a&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; trench line. During the subsequent search, troops found two bodies of&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; LTTE cadres, 3 T-56 weapons, 15 hand grenades, and 2250 ammunition used&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; fort-56 riffles.
