Just heard this song on Hiru FM. Has some rock touches to the original version and after inquiring from Hiru FM, it seems what they played was the Bathiya and Santhush's version of the song.

Ma Handawala is a song by Greshan Jayamaha which was a hit in the mid 90s.
Now looking at the list of songs in the Sara Sihina album given here : http://www.elakiri.com/forum/showpost.php?p=8277515&postcount=12 , Bathiya's version features Rookantha Goonathilaka.
What's up with that ?? I'm sure both BnS and Rookantha is aware that the song is by Greshan Jayamaha. It would've been in better taste if BnS featured Grshan Jayamaha for their remake rather than featuring Rookantha.

    What are your thoughts ?

remaking is gud...ya..the original artist shud be tributed as well....bt I think they did it well wen they make Ojaye remake..
Personally I think the Ojaye remake was crap. Randir can't hold a candle to Gypsies, however thats besides the point.
How would you feel if the Ojaye remake featured The Fortunes ?

I also confused about this song's history. I have da one, sung by Greshan Jayamaha. & dis was also done by Rookantha know. Yesterday somewhere in a web, I read that this song was written & composed by Rooka.

Anyway, I got da BnS version too. It's good.

Ah! so maybe Rookantha owns the song. That would explain the remake featuring him rather than Greshan Jayamaha.
