Mahinda Rajapakse’s thugs active in attacking General Fonseka’s supporters claimed their first victim when they attacked a group of about eight people who were on their way to attend a rally. In the incident took place around 11 am in Ranna, Tangalle, one person was killed and many other injured. Eyewitnesses said that an armed thug who rode with the son of a former Tangalle Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman on a motorcycle shot the victim. The injured have been admitted to hospital and a complaint at the Hungama police has been lodged in this connection.
