Going through the thread.. I think we all agree on some basic things in which happened and happening in SL

1. WAR is the biggest problem and the top priority
2. No one believes in Ranil anymore, UNP needs a true LEADER

We may think its easy to change the world with our radical thoughts but the moment you try to make it practical there lies 1000 issues, lets say someone truly wants to change the system which is an honest candidate... How do you do that? You need political stability/power to make it happen.. In the democracy system we live in... power can only be gained by cooperation, you ignore one party and think you don't need Tamil votes, Muslim votes, JVP votes then you definitely gonna fail... Ultimately person who cooperates wins.. but unfortunately the politics is politics and every move depend on the size of the piece they get... Now if you really wanna change the system this is the path you must follow.. otherwise your voice will never even be heard that's "democracy" for you!!

Ranil had his chances... and he screwed them all up, and its fact.. now get over it.. We as young generation of this country must not make the mistakes that our forefathers did, choosing a leader is not about how many generations we vote for that party anymore.. its about how many innovative and confident ways that the potential leaders can bring to this nation.. One thing in developed countries they just don't vote for the "BEST MUD SLINGER" they vote for the "BEST LEADER" that has got the best plan sorted out for their country, therefore... the candidates debate over the plans rather than what's in each other's pockets!!

Its time for us to change... We don't watch a CRICKET match and say Murali is Tamil so his wickets doesn't count or Mubarak is Muslim and his sixes doesn't count ... we need Sri Lanka to win... Regardless of where they come from.. if we can do that and brag about our Sri Lanka team.. Why we can't apply the same theory here?
