1. Private sector people get a EPF/ETF isn't it?

2. And with my experiance in health sector I would say, govt. servants in health sector work more than any other private employee. And that's also in the outskitrs of the country. Only Army soldiers work in more remote places in the country.

1. Private sector gets EPF/ ETF compared to the Govt sector gets pension.
But the difference is, pension is just the govt's money. But private sector employees fund a portion of their own EPF.

2. That's why they (doctors) get the highest income in the govt. sector  (Well.... after politicians.)

Actually, Government TOO deduct a nominal amount as "anathdaru" (not sure about the sineglish spellings) for their pension.

But, I am on the notion that the Pension for government employees is a must. They may be working a little and doing nothing. But a government employee does not have the facility to earn money by any other means. (except for Teachers and Doctors who do private work)

On the same notion, I throughly oppose the heavy Deduction they take out from the Private sector employees. It's almost criminal.

But, it a balance. So, I don't see (in my opinion) there is anything to be discussed or changed in this scheme, both for government and Private employees.

They deduct a negligible amount for the Anath daru aramudala compared to the Private sector EPF.

But I don't have any problem with deducting that. Because of that small deduction you can have a good life afterwards. (After 55 OR If it's a girl, after marrying, OR after leaving the country for good!)

And it's not a 'heavy' deduction. It's just 8% AFAIK.

Ya there is nothing to change in those schemes.

Ya it is crap. We all know that. But people here are just discussing some topics.

Nobody is teaming up as well. It's just the independent opinion of individuals.

That's the whole point of a discussion forum :)

yep, i agree with what you said,

i did only one post here. coz arguing regarding politics doesn't make any differance.

    politics is always politics.

without jumping to water you won't learn to swim as it is if you want to know about politics you got to be in.

we are freely giving our ideas but those may not from their heart too. that's what i feel.

now most of the ppl says MR is not good. if he is not good why ppl vote him, that is my question.

That happens all the time. ;)

When Chandrika was ruling, people wanted Ranil or someone else. When Ranil was ruling people wanted Mahinda or someone else. When Mahinda is ruling people again want Ranil or someone else.

    It's just a cycle :D

No body is perfect and no body can/will develop Sri Lanka. Personally what I believe is, no matter who ruled Sri Lanka, unless people change their attitudes, Sri Lanka is going to hell everyday.

Oil price has nothing to do with GOSL. It's just the global crisis.

Mihin Lanka was the poor management of Sajin Vass Gunawardena. If the CEO of Mihin was someone like Harry, then it might have survived.

Should give Prabha the opportunity to control North if he comes to the democtratic political arena (Like Pilleiyan). But this should be done only after punishing him legally according to the Sri Lankan law - because of all the killings and other attackes he did.

So after all, it's just the less worst person among the worst.
On that basis, I reckon Mahinda is the only living person who can lead Sri Lanka.

(After that it should be Sajith Premadasa or Karu Jayasuriya...)

Breaking news here in Malaysia, Oil prices are up by roughly 26 Sri Lankan rupees effective immediately!

New price per petrol liter here now stands at approx. 90 Sri Lankan Rupees!

X-pert, howz the situation in Aussie?
