Making Your Music Listening Experience Better!

Most of you guys must be using windows media player or winamp to listen to music..winamp is way better than wmp.....Well there is this software called Foobar 2000 which makes mp3s sound better than CDs.......You have to configure it properly........

First Download Foobar
You need these DSP Plugins as well...
Channel Mixer If you are using surround speakers
Noise Sharpening

EQ Presets!

Now install Foobar 2000 and extract those DSPs and put them in the components folder in the Foobar directory....

Open Foobar and press Ctrl+P and open the preferences!

You have to have all these DSPs!...If you are using 2.0 or 2.1 speakers remove the Channel Mixer!

Now Configure the resampler!

Never use Ultra...By ticking Ultra its resampling in real time which will lead your system to hang! Do this if you are only listening to songs and nothing else!

Configure the Noise Sharpening DSP

If you guys have used a X-Fi sound card, Noise Sharpening is like the Crystallizer in X-Fi but better.......Adjust it to satisfy your ears.....

Then the EQ

This is just my personal preset......Adjust it to your needs or use any of those presets i have given on the top.........

Lastly the output

If your sound device supports 24bit set it to 24bit.......If it doesn't setting it to 24bit will only degrade quality!

Well thats about it.....If you followed these steps you should see a noticeable difference....Even if you have addon/onboard sound this should make the sound more crisp and warm.......
Also don't forget to disable your sound cards EQ,Environment etc.......

I will post how to set the Channel Mixer later.......

Good Luck!

(Continued) Setting up Channel Mixer for 5.1 surround

Use this only if you have surround speakers.........If you have a Creative card such as Audigy or higher you can use the CMSS 3D Stereo Surround setting in the Audio console.....But the Chanel Mixer in Foobar does a better job!

Open the Channel Mixer

Select the number of speakers you have!

The volume of the front and rear n center speakers!

This is according to my setup i have a custom center speaker,Its volume is higher than the creative speaker i got so i reduced the volume......Increase as desired....

SubWoofer Settings!

Leave these as it is....If you have a 8" or 10" woofer increase the frequency a bit in base redirection.......

You don't have to have a good system.....Did u disable everything like S.Card EQ environment etc?
Noise sharpening has to have a nice effect.....n use the EQ in foobar!.......
