Guys this is just temporary. They will resume flights again. No way ratmalana airport will be a bad choice for them. Most Maldivians live around dehiwala. Mt Lavinia and Ratmalana area. They can easily land in ratmalana and take a tuk tuk to their rented house in Sri Lanka.
In a statement to the media, Maldivian said that it will not operate during Ramadan, which starts on April 2.
“We will resume scheduled flights to Colombo International Airport, Ratmalana after Ramadan,” Maldivian said. It stated that the decision to halt operations was taken since passenger traffic will be low during the 30-day fasting period.
