    a^2 + a^x = a^10

    a^x = a^10 - a^2

    a^x = a^2(a^8 - 1)

    ln|a^2| = ln|a^2(a^8 - 1)|

    xln|a| = ln|a^2(a^8 - 1)|

    xln|a| = ln|a^2| + ln|(a^8 - 1)|

    xln|a| = 2ln|a| + ln|(a^8 - 1)|

    x = {2ln|a| + ln|(a^8 - 1)|}/ln|a|

    'x' has no solution. It depends on the value of 'a'.

    and if a=1, the x cannot be found.

    1^2 + 1^x = 1^10
    1 + 1^x = 1
    Hence 1^x = 0
    This means x cannot be found
