CODE
1. First Install Maya.
2. Create a directory on the C: drive called FLEXLM (C:\FLEXLM)
3. Copy the aw.dat and awkeygen.exe file to this directory.
4. Goto start-->all programs-->AliasWavefront-->common utilities-->FlexLM license utilities
Under system settings copy Ethernet address
5. Open the file (from the directory C:\FLEXLM) aw.dat with Wordpad and replace the words "your host"
with the copied Ethernet address. Save and close wordpad
6. Start-->Run type:cmd.exe
in the dos window type:CD\
now it opens C:\
now leave the dos window open , go to the flexlm directory and doubleclick the awkeygen.exe,
it will open a dos window , leave it open.
back to yr 1st dos window which is in C:\
continue typing with:FLEXLM\aw.dat
To make it 100% clear this line must be like this: C:\FLEXLM\aw.dat
give enter and you re done.
If a wordpad window pops up with the license info of aw.dat , just close it.
Close both dos windows
If in this point the dos window replies something about file syntax errors etc, just
open the aw.dat with the wordpad , delete all bshit before:
FEATURE MayaUnltd sgiawd 7.000 ...etc in a way that the aw.dat will be something like this:
'FEATURE MayaUnltd sgiawd 7.000 permanent uncounted 649CD2197086 \
HOSTID=00e04ca1bb29' and only that.
Be sure that in the flexlm directory an lma file has been created before proceed the next step.
7. Start, All Programs, Alias, Common Utilities, FlexLM License Utilities.
Under Service/License File tab, check the radio button for Configuration using License File.
Browse to the file in C:\flexlm\aw.dat
File, Exit
8. Restart your computer.
