Meet the new xenobots: Tiny living robots have been created using cells taken from frog embryos. Each xenobot is less than a millimeter across, but one can propel itself through water using two stumpy limbs, while another has a kind of pouch that it could use to carry a small load.

what an era to be alive

But these can be put to good use too - mainly medical. Even at present there are nano robots (basically a nanomotor) that have cutter blades and can be used to clear the blockages in arteries. But still unsolved is how to extract what's being cut. :oo:
Once these are sorted out there will be a new era of surgery.

Something biological like this might be of better use, like transporting drugs to specific organs. Also it will self destruct after a specific time period.

Arthur C Clarke had predicted these things in his book "Rendezvous with Rama" in 1973 and he called it "Biots" Biological Robots.
