<blockquote data-quote="cqruwan1200" data-source="post: 3985174" data-attributes="member: 144849"><p><strong>Mass protest against LTTE's acts of Human Rights violations - Britain </strong></p><p></p><p><strong>(BY: Krishan Bulathsinghala, UK) </strong></p><p>A mass demonstration organised by the Sri Lankans Against Terrorism (SLAT) in UK was held on the 14 of February 2009 opposite the British Prime Minister's residence No.10 Downing Street, London. </p><p>The protest was mainly focused on exposing the LTTE's acts of human rights violations and the cowardly use of the human shield to the British forums. The gathering was attended by over 4000 peace lovers, according to metropolitan police sources and was quite energetic with Anti-LTTE slogans being shouted by the patriotic Sri Lankans. </p><p>A petition which had several thousands of signatures was handed over to Prime Minister Gordon Brown's office by representatives of SLAT. Furthermore, two incidents took place, where LTTE supporters tried to disrupt the programme when one tried to set him self on fire.
