[QUOTE="ironbutcher_x, post: 4893236, member: 213076"] hi, i got it from noeman.org and other sites, voice packs from everywhere on the net, pieced it together. suggest you download the latest garmin mobile xt which is ver 5.0040 is the latest map reader from garmin, but check again, they may have updated it. dont download anything ending with a 'a,b,c' as those are testing products. as for the map, got it from piratebay.org. u will find alot of torrents with .rar endings, they are fake. same for everything on the net ending with rar. it should be one file, named SriLanka.img its 30,518MB. (my current config ok). voice packs 6MB, vehicles 76MB thats all you need. and the garmin map unlocker, check piratebay for that too. also have the complete instructions/prog to get it working, if you want, i can send it all to you. contact me @ ironbutcher_x on yahoo messenger. the whole damn srilanka map is 30MB, full detailed, topographical ok. they are on a scale of 5 inch, very very detailed, the pics i uploaded are not set on highest setting as that slows down the phone alot. but please know that, nothing is marked ok, just a bare map, u have to enter your own city names so you know where u are and where u wanna go. that u can do it yourself also, reverse engineer google earth, need time and patience for that, just get coordinates per city basis, export in google earth, it will be a file named .kml. just load up excel and drag drop it in there, go down the page where u see longitude, latitude, descriptions with numbers, highlight those, but make sure first column is longitude not latitude, copy values and description to a separate excel file, save as cvs. then, download POI loader from garmin, load to phone via data cable, when exporting you can set target distance proximity alerts (early warning system if you like) and or speed trap locations with speed limits. possibilities are endless. needs some techy to get it working but once its done, it works like a charm. am working on restaurants, archeological sites, etc. but have to physically visit the place to get values for it. have personally inputed 1000 way points in one month by going to each and every place. another place to get those are at wikimapia.org . search on google for wikimapia srilanka and ull get everything marked, just read off the values from description tab to a cvs file or excel and export to cvs. (cvs is basically a file with commas after every tag) and upload to phone via poi loader. but keep original cvs separate as everytime u upload custom POI (points of interest ok) it erases everything u previously wrote to the phone. sorry for the technical descriptions, a tech guy myself. and i wanted to share this with everyone in srilanka, as everyone deserves that right. speaking bout dialog navigation, they use a old out dated gadget, and has a 'unique' bug, you cant drive over 50kmh as then the navigator crashes. and it costs Rs.100,000 +. to me, thats a waste of money, as you can buy state of the art GPS - garmin nuvi with maps for $200 in USA but bringing it down is the question, while a phone can pass through customs easily. not saying you should break the law here ok. but mine, am sure its the best out there and have personally tested while driving at 160 when my SUV is only max 180kmh. and have tested it out in the rural areas, neva got lost, as long as you input a destination point.
