Sri Lankan offspinner Muttiah Muralitharan has said he will retire from Test cricket next year. Murali, who is the highest wicket-taker in Tests with 770 wickets in 127 Tests, announced that the two-Test home series against West Indies in November 2010 would be his last.

Speaking at the end of the first ODI against Pakistan, in which he won the Man-of-the-Match award, the 37-year-old Murali said he would focus on playing one-day cricket until the 2011 World Cup, to be played in the subcontinent, and would thereafter stick to Twenty20 cricket.

so sad to hear something like that. he is the king of the spin and will be for ages to come. dnt you think that jayasooriya should also follow murali's path and retire from oneday matches.

He may retire after the 2011 WC...hmmm not sure ;)

Yes Murali is the best but he is not considered as the King of Spin :(
It is Jimmy Laker who is given that title

for sure he ll go for 800wickets target. might he ll try to achieve 900.
anyway then we can see him on ODIs and Twenty20s.

in my opinion, i think this is a vice decision. what do you think?

Well One Dayers are okay coz it will not tire him
And he will be less injury prone;):)

    Wise Decision

Habei Cuming to think of it :P I cannot remember Murali playing a T20!
    Did he play? ;)
